Water Entry & Survival Techniques
Course Length: 27 minutes
This training program provides the viewer with a detailed understanding of what they need to do in the event water entry is needed during an emergency. Specifically, this program discusses the steps needed to survive once in the water, as well as focusing on recovery once you are out.
Through live-action video demonstrations, the viewer is shown how to properly put on and use various types of Personal Flotation Devices (PFD) and immersion suits. Water-bound scenarios for both the PFDs and immersion suits are explained, and correct techniques for safety are shown. In cases of emergencies, proper evacuation procedures are explained focusing on the safest survival techniques. This video also makes a point to explain incorrect safety methods so the viewer doesn't make the mistake of using an unsafe technique during a water evacuation. Additionally, the recovery process for post-water-bound abandonment is shown.
Featuring an easy to navigate main menu, as well as a glossary, this training is a must for anyone who works in a marine environment. A short quiz follows each video within this training program and ensures the viewer understands all the information provided. Part of the Marine Survival Series.
