Forklift
Safety for Construction
With this construction-specific program, you are one step closer to meeting
OSHA's "formal instruction" forklift training requirements (29 CFR
§1910.178 (I)). In addition, site and equipment specific training is
always required for forklift operators.
Course Length: 45 minutes
The program demonstrates safe forklift procedures and
reviews the unique hazards construction crews commonly face (high wind, rough
terrain, overhead power lines, and changing surface conditions). It also covers
key topics like steering, stability, and pedestrian traffic.
The lessons covered
in J. J. Keller’s Forklift Safety for Construction interactive training
are:
- Overview
(Definitions, Weight, Stability, Steering)
- Operations
(Pre-operation, PPE, Hazards, Driving, Inclines)
- Load
Handling (Procedures, ID plates, Load Charts, Load Center, Frame Leveling)
After completing this
course, employees will understand:
- The
importance of safe operation of rough terrain vehicles on the construction
site
- How to
conduct a pre-operational inspection of the equipment,

safely operate rough terrain vehicles,
