Course addresses the requirements of FMCSR §392.9 and 393.

This course features up-to-date training to help your drivers comply with Canadian Hours of Service requirements. Key concepts and practices of the Canadian Hours of Service requirements are covered. The course includes logging examples, practical exercises and downloadable worksheets, explains the "hows" and "whys" of Canada's HOS regulations, and covers key topics, including: daily maximums, off-duty requirements, and weekly cycles. The course consists of five lessons including the Introduction (with PreTest) and Conclusion (with Review and Final Exams). The other lessons are:

  • Hours of Service Overview
    • Preventing Driver Fatigue
  • Hours of Service Regulations
    • Driving Rules
    • Driver’s Daily Log
  • Putting It Into Practice
    • Logging Examples
    • Review of the 13/14/16-Hour Rules
    • Review of the 70/120-Hour Cycles

After completing this course, drivers will understand:

  • The purpose and importance of hours-of-service regulations;
  • How to comply with these regulations by:
    • Managing time spent driving, on-duty and off-duty accordingly;
    • Keeping a current, accurate record of time management.
