Course Length: 30 minutes

This course explains time-reporting procedures and provides guidelines for employees of nonprofit organizations who must account for work time spent on multiple projects.

Nonprofit organizations frequently receive funding for their activities from external parties such as government agencies, foundations and corporations. Numerous laws, regulations and guidelines dictate how these funds may be spent and require comprehensive reporting of all such expenditures — in particular, charges for time spent by employees on specific projects. The topics covered in this course include:

  • Overview of time-reporting requirements
  • Timesheets
  • Reporting actual hours worked
  • Supervisor review and approval
  • Restricted projects
  • Correcting timesheet errors
