Industrial Ergonomics
Course Length: 45 minutes
Overview: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs,) such as sprains or strains resulting from repetitive motion, accounted for one-third of the total reported occupational injuries in 2013; many of which could have been avoided with ergonomics training and proper workstation set up. This course is designed to help learners identify ergonomic risks in their workplace and aid in reducing their chances of experiencing ergonomics-related injuries while on-the-job.
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain what ergonomics is and why it is important
- Discuss what types of activities may lead to pain or injury
- Recognize signs and symptoms of MSDs and other ergonomics-related injuries
- Identify ways to adjust your work environment to prevent pain or injury
- Demonstrate ways to support your ergonomic health at work and at home
