As with any vehicle, a CMV is made up of many parts. Though these parts have individual jobs or functions, they work together to effectively and efficiently operate the vehicle.

Non-CDL Driver Training: Identification and Diagnosis of Malfunctions is designed to help CMV drivers understand the key components of their vehicles and learn how to identify defects.

Objectives:

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the function of major vehicle component systems
  • Check all key vehicle systems to ensure their safe operation
  • Identify what is needed to keep vehicle systems in good operating condition
