Non-CDL Driver Training: Post-Crash Procedures
Course Length: 25 minutes
Intended Audience: New hire, inexperienced CMV drivers
Overview:
No matter how safely a driver operates a vehicle, there is always the possibility of being involved in an accident. It’s hard to imagine a day at work being any worse than being involved in an accident. In the immediate aftermath, it's hard to think clearly and know what needs to be done. That’s why it’s important to have a solid understanding of the procedures a driver needs to follow if involved in an accident.
Non-CDL Driver Training: Post-Crash Procedures is designed to help CMV drivers learn the procedures they need to follow in the event of a crash.
Objectives:
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe actions you should take to help secure the scene if you have been involved in an accident
- Explain procedures to follow in the event of a fire in the engine, tires, or cargo of your vehicle, including how to use a fire extinguisher
