Intended Audience: Any learner who is in need of remedial training related to lockout/tagout procedures when more than one worker is servicing or maintaining a piece of equipment.
Overview: This Corrective Action Training module was designed to remind employees the release of stored energy or unexpected startup can cause severe injury or death.
Objectives
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain why group lockout/tagout is necessary to protect workers from sources of hazardous energy
- Identify who is responsible for installing an energy isolating device under group lockout/tagout procedures
- Determine when OSHA standards advise against group lockout/tagout
- Describe what could happen if group lockout/tagout procedures ARE NOT followed, and workers are exposed to sources of hazardous energy
