Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Hours Of Service Requirements
Course Length: 37 minutes
Intended Audience: Drivers who are applying for an initial commercial driver's license (CDL) or drivers upgrading their current CDL.
Overview: Fatigued driving can be deadly. That's why the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) sets strict limits on your working and driving hours. Those limits keep you out from behind the wheel of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) when you're likely to be too fatigued to drive safely. The federal hours-of-service regulations in 49 CFR Part 395 have limits that are unique to drivers of passenger-carrying vehicles, requiring a certain amount of rest and limiting your daily and weekly hours. The rules also contain requirements for recording your time and keeping other required documentation, as well as certain exceptions from the rules.
Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Hours Of Service Requirements is designed to help drivers learn how to comply with hour-of-service regulations and take steps to avoid fatigue.
