Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Idling

Intended Audience: Drivers who are applying for an initial commercial driver's license (CDL) or drivers upgrading their current CDL.
Overview: Unnecessary idling of a vehicle's engine affects human health, pollutes the air, wastes fuel, causes excess engine wear, and may violate state or local anti‑idling laws.
Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Idling is designed to help the learner understand the importance of compliance with state and local laws and regulations, including for example, idling limits, fuel savings; and the consequences of non-compliance, including adverse health effects and penalties.
Objectives:
After completing this course, learners will be able to:

- Discuss the benefits of reduced idling
- Explain the limits associated with anti-idling laws and regulations
