Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Passenger Awareness Safety Briefing
Course Length: 6 minutes
Intended Audience: Drivers who are applying for an initial commercial driver's license (CDL) or drivers upgrading their current CDL.
Overview: Transportation by bus or motorcoach is among the safest forms of travel, but lives have been lost due to passengers not knowing what to do in the event of a fire, rollover, or crash. For that reason, a pre-trip safety briefing for bus and motorcoach passengers is highly recommended and may be required at your company. Similar to the briefing provided to airline passengers before every flight, a pre-trip safety briefing will help your passengers respond to—and exit safely in the event of—a crash or other emergency.
The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) specifically recommends that all motorcoach operators provide a safety briefing. Nothing prevents other bus operators from providing the information as well, however.
Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Passenger Awareness Safety Briefing is designed to teach you how to brief passengers on safety topics.
