Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Passenger Management
Course Length: 13 minutes
Intended Audience: Drivers who are applying for an initial commercial driver's license (CDL) or drivers upgrading their current CDL.
Overview: As the driver of a large passenger-carrying vehicle, the driver's primary responsibility will be getting the passengers to their destinations safely and efficiently.
Safe driving is certainly a large part of that, but the driver's responsibilities won't end there. The driver will need to interact with and actively manage the safety of the passengers from the first hello to the last goodbye—including the entire loading and unloading process—no matter their age, race, gender, ability, or demeanor. The driver may even need to deal with disruptive or combative individuals who pose a safety risk to the driver or others.
Entry-Level Driver Training (Passenger Endorsement): Passenger Management is designed to help the learner understand the proper procedures for safe loading and unloading of passengers prior to departure, including rules concerning standing passengers and the standee line along with the procedures for dealing with disruptive passengers.
