No matter how careful you are, if you drive long enough, you'll face an emergency situation. Perhaps it will be a medical emergency involving one of your passengers, a tire erupting in flames, or a vehicle breakdown when you least expect it. When an emergency situation can't be avoided, your goal is to deliver your passengers, yourself, and your vehicle from it safely. In this chapter you will learn procedures you can use to respond to some of the more common emergency situations you might encounter.
As with post-crash procedures, review these procedures often so you can remain calm and in control no matter what the road might throw your way.
