This 10-minute refresher course explains timekeeping practices and procedures for non-exempt (hourly) employees who must keep track of actual time worked, as well as for supervisors of these non-exempt employees.
In organizations that employ non-exempt (hourly) employees, the employees must keep track of actual time worked, and supervisors of these employees must review and audit the time records of their direct reports. Federal laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act and state laws require employers to maintain and retain detailed records concerning the time worked and the amount paid to non-exempt employees. Good timekeeping practices are critical to ensuring that employees are compensated properly as well as to the organization’s maintenance of accurate and thorough records. This 10-minute refresher course explains policies and procedures around timekeeping as well as mandatory meal and rest periods.
