Intended Audience: Any learner who is in need of remedial training related to merging and exiting
Overview: This Corrective Action Training module is designed to provide learners with remedial training related to merging and exiting. Specifically, this course was designed to prepare drivers to safely merge onto or exit from a highway by considering the size of their vehicle, reduced visibility, vehicle weight, sharpness of a curved ramp and their speed on the ramp.
Objectives
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Identify the steps to safely merge onto an exit ramp to leave a highway
- Describe the challenges of operating a CMV on curved entrance and exit ramps
- Explain how to safely merge into traffic from an entrance or exit ramp
