Entry-Level Driver Training (School Bus Endorsement): Danger Zones and Use of Mirrors
Course Length: 24 minutes
Intended Audience: School bus drivers who are applying for an initial commercial driver's license (CDL) or drivers upgrading their current CDL.
Overview: There are "danger zones" surrounding your school bus. They are the areas on all sides of the bus where children are in the most danger of being hit and injured or killed, either by another vehicle or by their own bus. The danger zones extend at least 10-15 feet in every direction, with some areas being more dangerous than others.
Entry-Level Driver Training (School Bus Endorsement): Danger Zones and Use of Mirrors is designed to help you become familiar with danger zones and learn techniques for keeping passengers safe as they maneuver through and around them.
