Entry-Level Driver Training (School Bus Endorsement): Student Management

Course Length: 23 minutes

Intended Audience: School bus drivers who are applying for an initial commercial driver's license (CDL) or drivers upgrading their current CDL.

Overview: As the driver of a school bus, your job is to deliver your students safely to their destination. To do so, however, requires knowing much more than how to operate the vehicle. You will need to know how to prevent being distracted by your passengers and how to protect passengers from harm, whether physical or psychological. This means you must know how to manage student behavior. In most cases, you will be the only responsible adult on the vehicle and will be the first non-family adult that students interact with each day. Your interaction with students sets the stage for their conduct for the rest of the day.

Entry-Level Driver Training (School Bus Endorsement): Student Management is designed to teach you about techniques for managing student behavior on the bus to ensure that safety is maintained, and the rights of others are respected.
