Intended Audience: School bus drivers who are applying for an initial commercial driver's license (CDL) or drivers upgrading their current CDL.
Overview: A school bus full of children could be a target for someone in pursuit of a vulnerable group or who is seeking national attention and/or mass casualties. It's happened. As a school bus driver, you know more than anyone else about your passengers, your school bus, and your route.
Entry-Level Driver Training (School Bus Endorsement): School Bus Security is designed to help you learn about potential security issues you could face as a bus driver. You will learn how to recognize potential threats; how to prevent, report, and respond to security threats; and what to do in the event of an active security event.
