Intended Audience: Any driver who needs remedial training related to Breakaway Brakes.
Overview: This Corrective Action Training module provides drivers with remedial training related to breakaway and emergency braking systems. Specifically, this course is designed to remind drivers emergency braking equipment will maintain brakes for the tractor and trailer if the trailer is disconnected from the tractor.
Objectives
After completing this training, learners will be able to:
- Recognize the purpose of the breakaway braking system.
- Identify when and how the trailer breakaway brakes and tractor emergency brake system will activate.
- Explain how to test the emergency braking system.
